Rainbow vs Chocolate Dumpling Pens: Bright or Understated?
Feb
Rainbow and chocolate are two very different ways to make a dumpling character stand out. One is colourful from the first glance; the other uses a softer cocoa-brown palette.
Pick rainbow for a colour-first stationery fan
The rainbow design carries several colours through the dumpling and matching lettering. It suits somebody who mixes bright notebooks, stickers and pens without worrying whether the shades match. On a white pen, the colour stays concentrated around the character instead of covering every inch of the barrel.
Pick chocolate for someone who prefers a calmer desk
The chocolate version uses a cocoa-brown dumpling with rosy cheeks. It’s still cute, but it looks at home next to neutral notebooks and more restrained stationery. Both colourways are available in a classic plastic ballpoint and a white metal gift set with a clear case. Format and colour are two separate decisions.
Before you order
- Consider the recipient’s existing stationery colours.
- Choose a case if the pen will be presented as a standalone gift.
- Don’t mistake the chocolate name for an edible product.

Which one makes the better birthday gift?
The best one is the shade the recipient would choose. Rainbow has more visual energy; chocolate is more understated. Presentation depends on whether you select plastic or metal.
These are small differences, but small differences are exactly what make a personalised gift feel considered.
